We only collect what we need to run the service and keep it safe for everyone.
- Account details — your name, phone number and email address.
- Service details — the work you describe, photos or voice notes you attach, and the address where the work is needed.
- Location — your location while you have an active booking, so customers can track their worker in real time.
- Identity documents (workers only) — your Aadhaar card images and video-KYC recording, used solely to verify that you are a real, eligible professional.
- Payment information — processed by our payment partner. We never store your full card or UPI credentials.
- Usage data — device type, app version and basic diagnostics that help us fix problems.
02How we use your information
Your data is used to deliver the service, not to profile or sell you.
- Matching your request with verified workers near you.
- Showing live tracking, prices, bids and job status.
- Verifying worker identity and preventing duplicate or fraudulent accounts.
- Processing payments and payouts.
- Sending booking, payment and account notifications.
- Improving reliability, safety and support quality.
03Aadhaar and identity verification
Aadhaar details are collected only from workers, only for identity verification, and only with the worker’s consent.
Your Aadhaar number is never stored in plain text. We store a one-way cryptographic hash of it, which lets us confirm that one person holds only one Fixo account without ever keeping the number itself. Aadhaar card images are stored encrypted and are visible only to authorised verification staff.
We are not affiliated with UIDAI. We do not share Aadhaar data with other users or advertisers.
04Location data
A worker’s live location is shared only while they are online or on an active job, and is visible to the customer of that job only, so they can see the worker approaching.
Customers share the service address only for the booking they create. You can turn location access off at any time from your device settings — some features will stop working.
05Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these limited cases:
- With the other party of a booking — a customer sees their assigned worker’s name, rating and live location; a worker sees the service address and contact details needed to do the job.
- With service providers who help us operate — payment gateway, cloud hosting, media storage and notification delivery.
- When required by law, or to investigate fraud, safety incidents or abuse of the platform.
06Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on secured infrastructure. Access to identity documents is restricted to authorised staff. Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing and are never readable by us.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will notify you if a breach ever affects you.
07Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. Booking and transaction records are retained as long as required for legal, tax and dispute-resolution purposes. Verification documents are retained while you remain an active worker on Fixo.
08Your rights
You are in control of your data.
- Access or correct your personal details from your profile at any time.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Withdraw consent for location or notifications through your device settings.
- Ask us what data we hold about you by writing to support.fixo@gmail.com.
09Children
Fixo is not intended for anyone under 18. Workers must be 18 or older, and we verify this during KYC.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product grows. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
